Expressing his joy during the visit, Mayor Concepcion stated, “We are delighted to personally visit our beloved senior citizens to extend the help and support coming from our local government. We wish them continued good health, well-being, and a longer life.” He added, “To our grandparents, our ‘lolo’ and ‘lola,’ you are dearly loved by the Municipality of Mariveles.”

The cash incentives were distributed in accordance with the ordinance, showcasing the municipality’s commitment to supporting its senior citizens and acknowledging their valuable contribution to the community. The local government’s efforts to provide financial assistance directly to the homes of these seniors reflect a dedication to ensuring their welfare and happiness.

As the year begins, Mariveles sets a heartwarming tone by prioritizing its elderly residents and recognizing their significance within the community. The cash incentives serve as a token of appreciation for their years of wisdom and experience, highlighting the municipality’s dedication to the well-being of all its residents.

Under the Centenarians Act of 2016 or the Republic Act 10868, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provides a Centenarian Cash Gift to Filipino citizens who reach the age of 100. Under this law, centenarians (individuals who have reached 100 years old) are entitled to receive a cash gift of Php 100,000 from the government. This incentive aims to recognize and give tribute to the senior citizens who have reached the remarkable age of 100 and above, acknowledging their contributions to society and providing support for their well-being
